Jamie Silverman

Top Agent Jamie Silverman’s love of homes and real estate started early and never stopped. She clearly remembers going shopping with her folks for a larger home at age 7, when their newly blended family grew to a total of six kids. “There was a very large Tudor home in the neighborhood,” Silverman recalls.   “I immediately fell in love and called it The Castle.”  It was the beginning of a love affair with homes that’s never ended, and one that became more than a hobby when Silverman found herself in the position of needing to become entirely self-sufficient following a divorce. “I took one of my first loves and made it my career,” Silverman says. She attended business school, became licensed and quickly found success in the communities of Short Hills and Livingston, New Jersey.

As a Short Hills native, Silverman is able to give her client’s an “insider’s education” on the area that few local agents can match.  “It’s a commuter’s dream,” Silverman says. “We’re close enough to the city to make it convenient, but far enough away to make it feel like a country getaway.”  “We also have the top public high school system in the country,” she adds proudly.  It’s clear that Silverman is proud to call Short Hills home and share everything it has to offer with her clients, many of whom come to her via her website, www.jamiesilverman.com. “I embraced technology as a marketing tool very early on,” Silverman says.   In addition to her namesake website, Silverman was one of the first REALTORS® featured on Realtor.com.   And while she’s still embracing everything that technology can do for her business and her clients, lately Silverman prefers a self-described “back to basics” approach.  “Anyone can send a text or an e-mail,” she says.  “But I’ve found that lately my clients are craving that face to face attention.” She continues, “Computers definitely have their place in the process, but they can’t match a client to the perfect home like I can.”

Silverman’s clients can look forward to an exceptional level of personal service—whether it’s finding their own “magic castle” or looking for the right piece of land on which to rebuild and create their own.  Silverman seeks out the properties that are best suited for teardown and rebuild and works with the area’s top five builders to help make her clients’ dreams come true.  “The best part of my job is helping people recreate the American Dream,” Silverman says. “I get to introduce them to wonderful neighborhoods and create relationships that will last a lifetime.”   When meeting clients for the first time, Silverman often spends a whole day showing them the town and introducing them to the area’s warm and welcoming sense of community.  It’s a community in which Silverman and her family are well known. “My parents, Jack and Jeri, are still very involved in local activities.” Silverman says. “Because people know me and my family so well, it helps build that sense of trust.”

And since no community is complete without furry, four-legged friends, Silverman is an animal advocate (and pet parent to four dogs) as well as an activist and fundraiser for local no-kill animal shelters.  “After all,” Silverman says, “animals need homes too.”
